1. Strong power to control high-concentration slurry transportation

CATHAY slurry pump is based on the principle of centrifugal pump and is specially designed for conveying high-concentration slurry containing solid particles. The impeller inside the pump body adopts a large channel and swept blade structure. Driven by the motor, it rotates at high speed (speed 750-2900r/min), and the solid-liquid mixture in the slurry is accelerated by centrifugal force to form a stable conveying pressure. Its unique hydraulic design maximizes the contact area between the flow-through components (impeller, pump casing, jacket) and the slurry, while reducing eddy currents and impacts. A single pump can convey slurry with a concentration of up to 60% (weight ratio), with a flow range of 5-2000m³/h and a head of up to 10-150m, which can easily meet the high-concentration slurry transportation needs of mining, metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries.

2. Multi-scenario adaptation to cope with complex slurry challenges

Mining and beneficiation: In the mining and beneficiation of metal ores (iron, copper, zinc) and non-metallic ores (limestone, gypsum), CATHAY slurry pumps can efficiently transport slurry, tailings slurry and concentrate slurry. For coarse-grained slurry with a particle size of ≤50mm, the impeller and sleeve made of high-chromium cast iron (Cr27) are more than 6 times more wear-resistant than ordinary cast iron, and can withstand the continuous erosion of hard particles in the slurry. The equipment can run without trouble for more than 8,000 hours.

Metallurgical industry: Suitable for slag slurry, dust and mud slurry, etc. generated during the smelting process. For example, in steel mills, blast furnace slurry containing iron scale and coke particles can be transported. The pump body adopts a bimetallic composite material (outer carbon steel + inner wear-resistant alloy), which not only ensures structural strength, but also improves wear resistance, ensures continuous and stable slurry transportation, and helps the smelting process run smoothly.

Coal industry: used for coal sludge transportation in coal washing plants and mine water slag discharge. Coal washing slurry contains a large amount of coal powder and gangue particles. The impeller of the CATHAY slurry pump has been dynamically balanced and calibrated, and the vibration amplitude during operation is ≤0.05mm, which reduces the impeller imbalance problem caused by coal sludge deposition, and the transportation efficiency is increased by 15%-20% compared with ordinary pumps.

Water conservancy projects: In river dredging, dam reinforcement and other projects, mud containing silt and stones can be transported. The equipped stirring device can pre-break up the deposited silt to prevent large debris from clogging the pump body. A single device can remove 50-500 tons of silt per hour, greatly improving the progress of the project.

3. Wear-resistant structure to extend the service life of equipment

Layered protection design: The flow-through parts adopt a composite structure of "wear-resistant layer + substrate" - the impeller surface is welded with wear-resistant welding rods with a hardness of HRC60 or above to form a 3-5mm thick hardened layer; the pump casing is lined with a replaceable rubber or polyurethane sheath, which uses elastic buffering to reduce particle impact. The service life of the sheath can reach 3000-5000 hours. There is no need to disassemble the entire pump body when replacing it, and the maintenance time is shortened to less than 2 hours.

Anti-blocking flow channel design: The impeller inlet diameter is 20%-30% larger than that of ordinary centrifugal pumps, and the flow channel adopts a streamlined design to reduce the risk of slurry retention and blockage in the pump. For slurry with high fiber content (such as papermaking black liquor slurry), a non-clogging impeller can be equipped to avoid fiber winding around the impeller shaft and ensure continuous operation of the equipment.

Reliable sealing system: A double sealing structure of "mechanical seal + auxiliary impeller" is adopted. The mechanical seal uses silicon carbide and carbide friction pairs, which are wear-resistant and high-temperature resistant (≤120℃); the auxiliary impeller generates reverse pressure to prevent the slurry from entering the sealing chamber, extending the seal life to more than 4,000 hours and reducing downtime maintenance caused by leakage.

4. Performance advantages to ensure efficient and stable operation

High-concentration adaptability: By optimizing the gap between the impeller and the pump casing (0.3-0.5mm), it is not easy to cause "cavitation" when conveying high-concentration slurry. Even if the slurry concentration fluctuates by ±10%, the flow rate and head can still be kept stable to ensure uniform feeding of downstream equipment.

Precise power matching: Equipped with a variable frequency speed regulating motor, the speed can be adjusted in real time according to the slurry concentration and conveying volume to avoid the "big horse pulling a small cart" phenomenon, saving 15%-25% energy compared to fixed speed pumps. Taking a slurry pump with a flow rate of 100m³/h as an example, the annual electricity saving can reach 20,000-50,000 degrees.

Flexible installation method: Provides a variety of installation forms such as horizontal, vertical, and mobile. Horizontal pumps are suitable for fixed production lines and occupy a small area; vertical pumps can be installed underwater to save space in the pump room; mobile pumps are equipped with tires or rail bases, which are convenient for flexible transfer between multiple operating points and adapt to mobile operating scenes such as mines and construction sites.

5. Structural optimization, taking into account durability and easy maintenance

Modular design: The flow-through parts (impeller, sleeve, guard plate) adopt standardized modules. When replacing, there is no need to disassemble the entire pump body. It can be quickly completed with special tools, which shortens the maintenance time by more than 50% and reduces the impact of downtime on production.

High-strength pump shaft: Made of 40CrNiMoA alloy steel, the tensile strength after quenching and tempering is more than 900MPa. It can withstand the axial and radial forces during slurry transportation. The shaft deflection during operation is ≤0.1mm, ensuring the stability of the gap between the impeller and the pump casing and avoiding component wear caused by shaft deformation.

Perfect cooling system: For high-temperature slurry (≤120℃) transportation, it is equipped with a forced water cooling or air cooling system. The heat of the pump body is taken away by circulating water or fans, so that the temperature of the flow parts is controlled below 80℃, preventing the material from deteriorating due to high temperature and extending the service life of the equipment.
