CATHAY overcomes key technical challenges and launches ultra-long-range electric mining truck

CATHAY announced that it has successfully developed an electric mining truck CATHAY ET300 with ultra-long driving range. This product solves the industry problem of insufficient driving range of electric mining trucks, which has long plagued the industry, and has injected strong impetus into the green transformation of mining transportation. ​

The CATHAY ET300 electric mining truck is equipped with a new generation of high-energy density lithium iron phosphate battery pack independently developed by CATHAY. The battery capacity is up to 600kWh, which is 1.5 times that of similar products. With the advanced battery management system, the vehicle can travel up to 120 kilometers on a single charge when fully loaded with 40 tons, which can meet the single-day transportation needs of most open-pit mines. At the same time, CATHAY has also equipped the ET300 with fast charging technology. When using a high-power charging pile, it only takes 2 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 80%, which greatly shortens the waiting time for charging and improves the efficiency of equipment use.​

In terms of power performance, the ET300 is equipped with a dual permanent magnet synchronous motor with a peak power of 800kW and a maximum torque of 5000N・m. It has strong power and excellent climbing ability, and can easily drive even on steep mine roads. The vehicle's braking system uses electro-hydraulic hybrid braking technology, which not only has a quick braking response, but also can recover energy during braking, further improving the vehicle's range. ​

In addition, the CATHAY ET300 also performs well in terms of intelligence. The vehicle is equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system, including automatic obstacle avoidance, automatic parking, path planning and other functions, which can effectively reduce the driver's labor intensity and improve transportation safety. At the same time, through the Internet of Vehicles technology, managers can monitor the vehicle's location, operating status, battery power and other information in real time to achieve intelligent scheduling and management of vehicles.​

Currently, the CATHAY ET300 electric mining truck has received orders from many mining companies in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi and other places. The first batch of vehicles will be delivered and put into use at the beginning of next year, when their performance and reliability will be fully tested in actual mining operations.
